It’s alive!

Still the animation is to rough. But I learned a lot about the material I worked with.

Of course the study of the anatomy is crucial. So I scribbled the skeleton and the outer shape of a cat:

After that I took some wire to rebuild the skeleton:

And put some clay around the parts which are supposed to remain stiff and marked the joints:

Then it was ready to get a coat of plasticine:

Actually I was to excited to form the skull so I left it to the end. This wasn’t such a smart idea because I messed up the plasticine…

This is the scribble how the cat’s face should look like in the end:

I hope I will have soon the pace and time to sit down and model the rest of it. So stay tuned…

Creating a creature/cat for a stop motion animation

After the the Offf conference I am truly inspired to do some stop motion animations. See what my results are until now:

For sure it is a lot of fun to create them.

BLOOD SWEAT VECTOR

Great pieces of work! I really can recommend this exhibition. A high variety of techniques and styles using vectors. I loved that they are printed on canvases. It is still on until the 12.12.09 so go there and have a closer look: BloodSweatVector

Origami rabbits in motion Part II

The first bit is ready to watch! Having a play myself with stop motion movies my respect rises more and more for all the movies made, using this technic.

Halloween comes soon…

Lovely artworks of Miss Van in London: “Lovestain”

I was happy to see this great exhibition in the stolenspace gallery in London this weekend. First time I ever saw her work was on the Pictoplasma Conference in 2005. I liked especially the wood cuttings and sculptures.
